Pipa's Favourites
What I'm listening to
Ry X has been my go-to artist for unwinding and recharging. His music feels ethereal, deeply emotional, and utterly captivating. I had the chance to see him live in New York and can’t wait for his concert in Portugal. If you haven’t discovered him yet, I suggest starting with the Dawn album — it’s an intimate, powerful musical journey.
To eat and cry out for more
Balagan, located in Ericeira, is the perfect combination of outstanding food and breathtaking views. With Middle Eastern-inspired dishes crafted from fresh, local ingredients, it offers a dining experience that’s nothing short of unforgettable. Don’t leave without trying the beetroot hummus or their heavenly dessert selection.
Must-read
If there’s one book that’s left a lasting impression on me, it’s Little Women. This timeless classic, with its unforgettable characters and poignant message, remains as relevant today as ever. Recently, I discovered the Eternal Romance Collection by Cranford and fell in love with it. These beautifully curated editions elevate the experience of reading timeless stories.
On my wishlist
I’m a big fan of bold accessories, and the Prada Symbole sunglasses are right at the top of my list. With their striking and elegant design, they’re perfect for adding a touch of originality and sophistication to any outfit. I’m torn between the black and tortoiseshell versions — decisions, decisions!
A trip that I loved
Paris will always be one of my favourite cities, with its timeless charm and vibrant atmosphere. I love strolling along the Seine, exploring the boutiques and cafés in Le Marais, and ending the day at the Musée d’Orsay or a restaurant with a view of the Eiffel Tower. The cherry on top? A visit to Disneyland 🤩
A must-watch
Shrinking and Nobody Wants This! Two brilliant series that prove comedy can be both hilarious and emotionally impactful. Shrinking strikes a rare balance, blending heartfelt moments with unexpected humour as it delves into the complexity of human relationships. That’s what makes it so special.
On the other hand, Nobody Wants This offers a provocative, unpredictable narrative. With intriguing characters and a gripping plot, it challenges perspectives and keeps you hooked from start to finish. Both are clever, sharp, and beautifully written, with characters you can’t help but love.
Local discovery
A few weeks ago, I attended a ceramics workshop at Casa Angelita in Lisbon, and it was amazing! The act of creating something with your hands is both therapeutic and rewarding. With sessions running almost daily, you can take home unique pieces to decorate your space. Highly recommend it!
An extra tip
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is one of my favourite places in Lisbon, and now there’s even more reason to visit. The recently revamped Contemporary Art Centre, opened in October, is a vibrant modern space showcasing works by Portuguese and international artists. It’s the perfect spot for a cultural outing, followed by a relaxing stroll through the foundation’s stunning gardens.
