As you may have already noticed, today’s theme is small rooms! We’ve recently received several questions on Instagram about how to decorate rooms, maximizing space to the fullest. Indeed, all small spaces pose a design challenge, requiring careful planning. The chosen decor can quickly create the illusion of a larger environment or accentuate its reduced area even more. And this is particularly noticeable when we talk about bedrooms, which should be, above all, an environment of relaxation and tranquility 😌💆🏻♀️

Our team has the solution 🙂 From strategically utilizing walls to using light colors and elevated furniture, in this article, you’ll find the secrets we use daily in our projects to transform small rooms into true havens of relaxation 😴🥰

Using predominantly light colors is advisable because they will give the sensation of more spaciousness in the room. Strong colors can also be part of the color palette but as accents in decor accessories such as pillows, blankets, and small furniture.

Windows are crucial for conveying spaciousness and capitalizing on natural light, but not only that – curtain decoration must be well thought out to elevate the room’s design. I always recommend a rod instead of tracks, but the rod must be placed as close to the ceiling as possible to heighten the room and, of course, the length of the curtains should reach the floor.
Painting the walls with a shade darker than the ceiling. The height of the ceilings is one of the main factors in making a space appear larger or smaller, and this difference in tones creates the illusion of a higher ceiling.

Taking advantage of the walls is also an excellent trick. You can install shelves, niches, and suspended furniture to free up floor space without sacrificing functionality
Using few, but special pieces. Adding comfort through textile layers, and not opting for multiple pieces of furniture.

When using brighter colors or patterns on the walls, we should either do it on all walls or use very similar colors, so that the accent wall doesn’t make the room feel smaller. I do not recommend doing half-wall paintings or using colors, whether in wallpaper or paint, that create very strong contrasts.
Opting for multifunctional furniture to maximize storage. This way, we minimize the amount of furniture and prevent the space from feeling small and cramped.

Always use furniture with legs. Whether it’s beds, bedside tables, or dressers, the more visible the floor is, the larger the room will appear.
Integrating mirrors into the decoration, as they help create the illusion of a larger space.
Prioritize light colors and reserve patterns for accessories. However, a wallpaper with stripes, for example, can be interesting to enhance the perception of ceiling height.
